Brown vaginal discharge/spotting! What's going on?
I’m 18 and my long term boyfriend is 21. We’re sexually active and are both our first sexual partners but have occasionally had unprotected sex. We haven’t had unprotected sex since my last period. I recently started doing external masturbation for the first time, but say I masturbated twice in the middle of the week by the end of the week I was getting light brown discharge for a day or two, this happened for the next week too, so this week I didn’t masturbate at all, but I’m still getting the brown discharge at the same sort of time in the week, and in some places its darker/more red. I’m between periods at the moment, technically this would be the time I would come on my period in a regular 28 day cycle, but lately my period keeps being 2 weeks late, so more like a 6 week cycle.
I’ve never had this brown discharge before, except at the very beginning and end of my period, I’m beginning to get worried, I really don’t want to have to go to the doctors unless I really need to. Do you have any advice or ideas on what this could be? Does anyone else have a similar problem?

Spotting can sometimes be a sign that you are pregnant and the placenta has formed too close to your cervix. You’re probably not pregnant though.
See a doctor would be my advice.
