Do Desert Eagle .50 cal break easily?
My friend claims that desert eagle .50 cal break easily and I honestly dont believe it. Anyone own a desert eagle and can answer this?
They have a reputation for being crap. I own an MDE and its crap, trigger pull is enourmous and the let off stings. The Jericho’s arent bad from what ive heard.

I had a friend that owned one and let me shoot it at the range on two occassions. The thing constantly jammed. Would never feed the last two rounds in the magazine.
The jams were not all alike either. We had stovepipe jams of empties and failures to feed on the feed ramp. Also, instances of the loaded rounds "jumping" out of the magazine and gun and landing on the ground. He also let all sorts of folks shoot the thing to make sure we were not limp-wristing the handgun or anything.
He sent the pistol back to the factory twice and each time they returned it to him in the same condition…a pistol that simply would not function reliably even 70% of the time.
Save your money and buy a good quality 45 ACP custom 1911. You will be glad you did.

Heres an easy answer: The desert eagle is mostly made of pure steel. DO YOU, think it would break easily? The answer is hell no.

In response to Logan’s rather humorous answer… there’s no such thing as "pure steel"… only grades of it… some more suited to firearms usage than others.
B.S. on that. In this case material doesn’t matter, it’s the inherent flaws just in the design alone.

Deagles are junk. They are indeed fragile internally…not to mention overly large for what they are.
